Day 1: Angers

Take advantage of your first day to visit Angers. Discover the richness of this city of art and culture. You can then take a tour of St. Maurice's Cathedral in Angers. Dating back to the 12th century, you will find a Gothic style and various medieval stained glass windows that offer a beautiful set of lights. Let yourself be lulled by the organs. Take a stroll through the historic centre and you can admire Adam's house in St. Croix Square. It is a half-timbered house that gives a special spirit to the place, and is also a remnant of medieval times.
For your lunch break, head to the Lafayette Market, a great place to find all the specialties of the region. Otherwise, you will undoubtedly find a small restaurant in the old town!
If you are interested in museums and art, don't hesitate to visit the Museum of Fine Arts. You can also make a stop at the David d'Angers Gallery, which is located in Toussaint Abbey. Let yourself be surprised by the different works, sculptures as well as by the place!
End the day at the Château d'Angers (16th century), the first on our list for this road trip from Angers. It is also known as the castle of the Dukes of Anjou. The gardens are part of the charm of the castle since they were redeveloped in the 1950s. During the visit, you will pass the tapestry of revelation that illustrates a part of the Bible for about 140 meters. Day 2: Saumur Castle

For this second day of road trip from Angers,we continue our list of castles of the Loire... The next Loire castle to visit is Saumur. Discover the small town and its sublime bridge that crosses the Loire and take advantage of it to park your campervan along the river towards the castle. Dive into the world of the castle by visiting the museum which exhibits several collections such as ceramics or tapestries.

Then go to the famous Black Cadre, the national riding school. The institution remains a must for riding enthusiasts or if you are cuddly.se.s. Discover its history, the universe and to observe the squires at work.

For a family outing and breathe fresh air: take a tour of the biopark of Doué-la-Fontaine(the site of the biopark). You will be able to observe endangered animals but also explore natural landscapes in cohabitation with the animals present. This park promotes respect for nature and the environment. He tries to offer a pleasant visit while being eco-responsible.

Day 3: Chinon Castle and Brézé

Third day and the next Loire castle to visit is Chinon Castle. Its history is rich in its past dating back to the Middle Ages. It is not just a castle, it is a real royal fortress that overlooks the city. You can park in the various car parks along the Vienna, under the shade of the trees and at the water's edge!
Then take a short tour of the city and stroll through the alleys of Chinon. In the city centre, you will come across many medieval half-timbered or stone houses.

Continue on the road, towards Brézé. The uniqueness of the castle lies in the underground part. Indeed, you can visit the underground of the castle. These initially allowed the enemy to slow down in the event of an attack and the inhabitants to live in self-sufficiency in the event of a siege. Continue the tour with the various rooms set up in the galleries such as a former bakery, the press room... Or the impressive wine cellar.

Day 4: Azay the Rideau and Villandry Castle

In the afternoon not far from the first stop this morning, go to Villandry Castle. Another Renaissance treasure, the estate is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Day 5: Château Valençay and Chenonceau

We hope you still want to continue this road trip from Angers... This morning, our next Loire castle to visit is Valençay. It mixes classical and Renaissance architecture and offers an exotic break near Tours or Orleans. Through the different rooms of the castle, you can observe the change of the owners over the centuries. Discover the different rooms, the dining room or the gallery of family portraits. Then take to the air with a walk in the forest, in the gardens or the deer park.

Head to one of the loire's most famous castles: a visit to Chenonceau Castle. This field is influenced by the different women who lived there: from Diane de Poitiers to Catherine de Medici... During the 18th century, many philosophers and academics went to the literary salon to exchange ideas. Later, during World War II, the castle became the way to escape the Nazis and go to the free zone. Also discover the Gallery of Domes which pays tribute to the former military hospital designed by Gaston Menier. The gardens are also worth a visit: make children happy with the maze!

Cheverny Castle

Day 6: Royal Castle of Amboise and Cheverny

The penultimate day of your road trip from Angers to discover our list of Loire castles! First stop: the royal castle of Amboise, the palace of the kings of France during the Renaissance... And Leonardo da Vinci's burial place. Let yourself be transported by the history of the castle through the centuries with the different kings who have stayed there.

Day 7: Château de Chambord and Blois

For this last day of road trip from Angers,we kept you the best known for the end! The penultimate Loire castle to visit is Chambord Castle. For more than 500 years, this monument has aroused the admiration and fascination of many visitors. A true jewel of heritage, it houses a collection of paintings, tapestries and furniture in the various rooms. Then hit the road again for the last... Blois Castle! Take a lunch break in the typical alleys of the city before attacking the visit of the castle. The Château de Blois was also a popular pied-à-terre for the kings of France during the Renaissance. Its four wings that surround the courtyard show the evolution of architecture from the 13th to the 17th century. One of the special features of the building is to house the Museum of Fine Arts.
