One-week stay

I'm discovering

Day 1

We start this first day of road trip with some fresh air towards the Ecrins National Park.

We propose to start smoothly with a short walk of about 2:30 to the Shower Lake. Park your campervan at the car park at the entrance to the hamlet of Casset, go up the main lane, follow the Petit Tabuc torrent and start the ascent that will take you first to the Clairière du Grand Pré and then to the Shower Lake. Let yourself be surprised by the beauty of the nearby forests and mountains before falling on the azure-coloured water.

Then head to La Cascade de la Pissette, another easy-to-do hike through a mountainous landscape before arriving at the foot of this imposing waterfall.

For the night, find a nice spot on Park4Night or the Blacksheepapp. There are quite a few places with views of the forest or the mountains. It is also an opportunity to cook a good little dish for that first night in your converted van.

If this is your first road trip in a van... The moment of doubt about the shower or the toilet will surely arrive... But don't panic, we've put together a little article to give you some tips to make your weekend go well

Day 2

For this second day of travel, we embark on the mythical Great Route of the Alps. First stop: the city of Briançon,known for its fortifications of Vauban. You can also visit the Asfeld Bridge, Strong of the Heads and the collegiate Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Nicolas. Then go for a walk in the city and pass through the Petite and the Great Gargoyle, cobblestone streets with colorful facades to discover the heart of the city.

Second stop on the Great Route des Alpes: Guillestre. Explore the Queyras massif, the Guil Gorges and enjoy the mountainous landscape.

Continue to Vars, famous for its ski resort. Then Condamine-Châtelard with the fort of Tournoux.

End the day in Barcelonnette. With a mountain atmosphere, colorful facades, Manuel Square and its pretty fountain, you can take many walks in the summer in a green environment or ski in the winter thanks to the three resorts: Pra-Loup, Sauze Super-Sauze and Sainte Anne.

Take advantage of your evening to rest and watch the beautiful photos you took during these two days of travel. Don't hesitate to post and tag us on your best photos on Facebook or Instagram

Day 3

Last day of your road trip in the Southern Alps,to finish in style we propose to visit Sisteron and Gap before returning the road to return your van to the agency Blacksheep. Follow the Lavender Route via Saint-André-les-Alpes, Barrême, Dignes les Bains and Thoard to make the most of a floral and colourful view.

Make a short stop in Dignes les Bains, the historic capital of lavender and located in a panorama of medium mountains: this is a famous spa. In the city centre is the aquatic complex of warm waters, it is a covered place with normal pools and other recreational pools for children.

Then head to Sisteron. Called"the pearl of Haute Provence",it is a city steeped in history where you can visit the Citadel-Fortress perched on its rock, which will offer you a panoramic view. The landscape is very beautiful as it offers a lot of nature and you can guess the beginning of the high mountains of the Alps. For family dipping, small beaches are set up on the banks of the Durance.

Finally, last stop at Gap before the end of this magnificent road trip (at least we hope!). Nicknamed the capital of the Southern Alps, take a stroll through the city and discover its heritage. Visit the cathedral, the Chapel of the Penitents, the Town Hall, the Domaine de Charance with its wonderful botanical garden and rose garden...

If you have time left or if you prefer to enjoy nature for your last moments of travel, you can also go on a hike at the Tour de Malcombe to discover the landscapes of Gap.

Unfortunately it's already the end of the adventure... Yes, we know this weekend has passed very quickly and you can't wait to leave! Going aboard a converted van has you more and you want to continue to explore french territory? Why not explore the South of France,or the Northern Alps?
