Day 1: Namur and Louvain-la-Neuve

Start your road trip in Belgium by picking up your van at our Namur agency! First step of the stay: visit Wallonia and discover Namur!
We recommend some interesting spots to visit in Namur:
- The citadel of Namur. Vestige of the Middle Ages that has long occupied a strategic position in Belgium. Immerse yourself in the life of the time with a visit to the former habitat of the Counts and the large square of the Esplanade. Take a step back in time with the Terra Nova part, which was once used to protect the citadel from attacks. Finish with the guided and immersive tour of the underground and retrace the history of the citadel with the different animations.
- Old Namur, stroll to admire the old buildings and architecture of the city! Start from the Place d'Armes, the central square of the city and rich in history. You will see two emblematic characters of the city: Djozeph and Franwcwés as well as a snail, symbol of the city. Then, go to the Belfry, the theater, the Parliament of Wallonia, the Provincial Palace and finally the Saint-Aubain Cathedral.
- Another nice activity possible: rent a paddle to walk along the banks of the Meuse and discover the city from another angle.
For a gourmet break, we advise you to try the Maison des Desserts,a very famous tea room in Namur.

Then take the road towards Louvain-la-Neuve. On the program this afternoon: the Hergé Museum and the Wood of Lauzelle for a short walk. For fans of the world of Tintin or for the curious, this museum is a must. Find many original plates, drawings ... Retrace the life and work of this famous Belgian author. Then end the day with a walk in the wood of Lauzelle. There are several marked circuits: the Fauna and Flora circuit, Forest and Wet Bottom. Find the different circuits on the university's website, go see the website of the Catholic University of Louvain.

Day 2: Natural Park of the two Ourthes and Liège

Second day of road trip in Belgium,on the program this morning: the natural park of the two Ourthes. Depending on your desires, you can go on a short walk to start the day or a hike a little more sporty. Why go there? It is a very large playground in the middle of nature, between highlands, forests and two rivers.

In the evening, when you are comfortably settled and you will look at the sublime photos you have taken in the last two days... Don't hesitate to tag us on social networks(Facebook or Instagram)! The Blacksheep team will be delighted to follow your adventures aboard their campervan!

Then, direction Liège, a city full of charm in the Belgian Ardennes! For a visit to Liège,we advise you to go see:
- The city center with the cathedral, the Place Saint-Léonard or the Grand Curtius, one of the most beautiful buildings in Liège with its red façade. Take the opportunity to admire the small alleys and brick buildings! Liège is also known for the many works of street art on the walls.
- The staircase of the mountain of Bueren... There are many steps but we promise you that the view of the city when you are at the top is worth it!
- The dead ends of the rue Hors-Château, while walking there, do not hesitate to stop ... You will probably come across some very nice surprises with pretty courtyards and gardens!

We advise you to end the day with the Coteaux de la Citadelle. Located on the heights of the city, you will understand why it was built at this place once at the top. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. You can do it at night to see the city from another angle or at the end of the day to admire the sunset.
Impossible to go to Liège without a snack break with the famous waffles of Liège! You will find them without worries in bakeries or cafes ...

Day 3: Caves of Han-Sur-Lesse and hike to Achouffe

For this last day of road trip in Belgium,start with a little freshness and the caves of Han-Sur-Lesse. At a depth of 110 m, travel to the heart of the Earth with the different galleries filled with stalactites and stalagmites (do you also always confuse the two?!). You will attend a sound and light show in the Salle d'Armes to the delight of young and old. After visiting the cave, you can also take a walk to the animal park by following the hiking trail or safari-car! Climb aboard a panoramic vehicle to discover the richness of the park, and be as close as possible to nature and animals.

Then in the afternoon, go for a hike from the village of Achouffe (yes, where we brew the Chouffe). Discover the valley of the fairies through the streams of Chevral and Martin-Moulin. You will pass through the village of Nutons... Legend has it that dwarves lived hidden in the hole and repaired the shoes of the inhabitants during the night in exchange for offerings.

Day 2: Memorial of the Battle of Waterloo and St. Gertrude's Collegiate Church

For this second day of road trip, continue to visit Wallonia with a cultural visit and the Waterloo Memorial Museum. Immerse yourself in the military history of the country and relive the history through many animations... Participate in reconstructions of cannon shooting, battlefields, exchanges with soldiers, or the handling of weapons... For an immersive experience, go see the 3D movie and relive the battle!
You can also go see the Panorama, a historical canvas painted by Louis Dumoulin. The 110 m long paint layout will immerse you in the heart of the action. Finish with the Lion Mound to get a view of the entire battlefield and educational farm for children.


Collégiale_Sainte-Gertrude

In the afternoon, head to the collegiate church of Sainte-Gertrude, one of the oldest Romanesque churches in Europe. Let yourself be seduced by the Ottonian Romanesque style and its jacquemart punctuing the life of the inhabitants. This collegiate church hides buried treasures: the crypt, remains of ancient churches and an archaeological site to visit.

Day 3: Villers-la-Ville and hiking

Start this day with a visit to Villers-la-Ville and its abbey. It is a must-see monument to visit... Its gardens are not classified among the parks and gardens of Wallonia for no reason! The abbey was built in the twelfth century and served as a residence for Cistercian monks. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in 1976 during the French Revolution. Thanks to a great restoration work as well as the development of gardens, this site has regained its charm of yesteryear.
In the afternoon, take a big breath of fresh air with a hike. This easy little hike of about 3 hours from Villers-la-Ville will take you for a ride and enjoy the Brabant countryside through dirt roads. You will pass by the Golf de la Bruyère and the castle of Cognée.

Dinant - Road trip Belgium

Day 4 : Dinant

For this fourth day of road trip in Belgium,make a stop in Dinant, one of the jewels of Belgium. What for? You will be seduced by the city center built between the cliff and the Meuse. Stroll along the banks to discover the charm and architecture of the city. Do not hesitate to enter a bakery and taste the local specialty: the couques de Dinant. These are small hard biscuits made of honey and flour with various shapes inspired by Dinant. For beer lovers, it's impossible to pass your way without stopping at the Leffe house! Discover the history of this brewery created in 1240 in an abbey and end your visit with a tasting...
The other point of view to see is the citadel of Dinant. Built by Vauban, it overlooks the city. To get there, you can climb on foot (408 steps) if you want to go on a sports trip or take the funicular to admire the view. Arrived at the top, head to the museum to trace the history of this citadel. You will be brought back between 1466 and 1914 with the outside and the views from the top. But it is also a place of memory that traces the war against the Germans in space 1914. You will be able to get into the feet of the French soldiers and hear the sounds of the past with the German invasion.

Durbuy

Day 7: Durbuy and the labyrinth of Barvaux

For this last day of road trip in Belgium to visit Wallonia, start the day with the visit of Durbuy. Called, the smallest town in the world, start with the old town and let yourself be surprised by the alleys and the charm that emanates there. Then head to the Topiary Park, a large garden of plant sculptures. The originality of this park is based on the art of pruning trees for decorative purposes. With over 250 different shapes, you will be impressed by the work.

Labyrinthe_barvaux

Finally, end your road trip and your day at the labyrinth of Barvaux. Let yourself be carried away by the eleven hectares of cornfields to find the way out! Animators will be there to offer you a show that will delight both the youngest and the big ones. Also immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a dark labyrinth, with biological scope or openness thanks to hidden codes.
